The first Starbucks coffee shop is preparing to open in Tbilisi, located in the Axis Towers complex. The exact launch date has not yet been disclosed, but it was previously reported that the opening is expected in the summer of 2026, which effectively confirms the brand's imminent arrival on the market.
The Kuwaiti conglomerate Alshaya Group, which holds the chain's franchise in several Middle Eastern countries and Turkey, is partnering with Starbucks for its entry into Georgia. Operational management in the country will be carried out through the company's Turkish division.
In the initial phase, the chain plans to open locations in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Batumi. In the long term, the strategy appears ambitious: over 7–8 years, the brand expects to roll out up to 50 coffee shops across Georgia, forming a full-fledged national presence network.
