The total revenues of Georgian TV and radio broadcasters from commercial advertising in the first quarter of 2026 reached 27 million lari, an increase of 64% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the Communications Commission, noting the particularly strong growth in the television segment.
Television companies received 25.6 million lari, which is 73% more than a year earlier. The main part of the revenue was provided by direct advertising – 87%, followed by product placement and sponsorship integrations. TV remains the main driver of the country's advertising market.
In the radio segment, the situation is opposite: revenues decreased by 15% and amounted to 1.4 million lari. Direct advertising also dominates here, but the overall trend indicates a decrease in advertisers' interest in radio amid the strengthening of television and digital media consumption.
