The Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) intends to finalize the electricity tariff by the end of March. According to the chairman of the regulator, David Narmania, the current tariff, introduced in December last year, was temporary and requires refinement of several parameters.
According to Narmania, the cost for consumers is likely to increase, but the exact figures will only be known after the analysis is completed. The commission made the decision on the new tariff urgently to take into account all current economic and energy factors.
Previously, GNERC has repeatedly announced plans to increase prices, linking them to the development of employment and infrastructure. In December 2025, the regulator decided to freeze tariffs for three months, but now the situation requires a review and adjustment of electricity prices.
