Companies registered in Georgia before January 1, 2022, must update their registration data in the registry by March 31, 2026, according to the Law on Entrepreneurs. If the requirement is not met, their registration will be suspended from April 1.
The update deadline has already been postponed: it was previously scheduled to come into force on April 1, 2025, but was extended by a year due to the fact that most companies did not update their data. Business portal BM.ge warns that the suspension of registration of thousands of enterprises may negatively affect the state's tax revenues.
It is not yet known whether the government will postpone the deadline again. The Ministry of Justice of Georgia has not yet provided statistics on how many companies have already updated their data in the registry.
