Direct flights may be launched between Makhachkala, Tbilisi, and Tehran, according to the Prime Minister of Dagestan, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov. According to him, Uytash International Airport is actively developing: passenger traffic from 2020 to 2024 has more than doubled, from 1.4 million to 2.9 million people.
The second phase of the airport's reconstruction includes the construction of a new runway, the expansion of the apron to 16 parking spaces, and the modernization of aircraft maintenance systems. This will allow for more flights and improve the quality of passenger service.
The opening of the Makhachkala–Tehran and Makhachkala–Tbilisi routes, as the Prime Minister noted, will open up new opportunities for international trade and tourism, making Dagestan more accessible to foreign guests and partners.
