Restoration of Annulled Driver's Licenses Begins in Georgia

The Ministry of Justice and the Patrol Police are ensuring the return of licenses to drivers until February 2026

The process of restoring driver's licenses, which were previously annulled for traffic violations, has started in Georgia. The restoration status is already displayed on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and drivers will be able to check it using their personal number and passport or fine receipt number.

More than 30,000 citizens, who were deprived of their licenses before December 16, 2025, for accidents, drunk driving, drug use, or exceeding penalty points, will be able to regain the opportunity to drive. The legislation was softened by the parliament, and the patrol police are obliged to complete the process by February 1, 2026.

Drivers are advised to ensure that the status of their licenses is activated on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia before driving, in order to avoid violations and problems with the law.
