On the evening of December 18, a freight train with petroleum products destined for Armenia departed from Azerbaijan towards Georgia. The train departed from the Beyuk-Kyasik station in the Agstafa region, near the Azerbaijani-Georgian border. Fuel will be delivered in transit through the territory of Georgia.
The train belongs to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and consists of 22 tank cars. They carry 1,220 tons of AI-95 gasoline. It is expected that the cargo will be delivered to Armenia in accordance with the established procedure, Report agency reports.
This trip was the first case of delivery of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia by SOCAR. The delivery became possible after the decision of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, adopted in October 2025, to lift restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia through the territory of the country.
