Georgia has decided to revise the parameters for the construction of the Anaklia deep-water port. The Ministry of Economy of Georgia signed a contract for €101.5 thousand with the Dutch company Port Consultant Rotterdam, which will update the project's master plan.

Experts will have to propose alternative development options, recalculate the budget, and update the cargo traffic forecast until 2050. This will allow adjusting the implementation strategy of one of the country's key infrastructure projects, taking into account new economic conditions.

The revision of the master plan is related to the delay in the investment agreement with the Chinese consortium that won the tender in 2024. At the same time, authorities previously stated that preparatory work for construction had already been completed, but the implementation timeline remains uncertain.
