Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Georgia's 2026 budget is based on a conservative economic growth forecast of 5%, but authorities expect to surpass this figure. According to government estimates, the country's total economy could reach 114 billion lari, and GDP per capita will exceed 11,000 dollars.
The head of government recalled that 2025 was particularly successful for the economy. Growth amounted to 7.5%, exceeding the forecasts of the International Monetary Fund. For the first time in history, the size of the country's economy exceeded the 100 billion lari mark and reached about 104 billion, and the per capita income indicator rose above 10,000 dollars.
According to Kobakhidze, the government has more ambitious plans for the coming years. Optimism is associated with reforms carried out in the government's economic bloc and in state-owned companies, which should support further acceleration of economic growth. 📈
