In January 2026, Georgia recorded a historic high in exports of precious metal ores and concentrates. According to Geostat, the volume of shipments reached $50.9 million with a physical volume of 11,107 tonnes. This is more than four times higher than the figure for the same period last year. The share of this category in the overall export structure amounted to 10.6%, allowing it to enter the top three largest export items.
The entire January volume was sent to China, just as a year earlier. In other months of last year, shipments were also made to Bulgaria, and in 2023-2024 Switzerland and Belgium were among the destinations. Nevertheless, China remains the key sales market.
On an annual basis, the dynamics are also impressive. In 2025, exports reached $378.9 million and 104,141 tonnes; in 2024, $237.5 million and 85,375 tonnes; and in 2023, $65.3 million and 22,433 tonnes. The trend points to steady growth in precious metals supplies abroad.
