The authorities of Dagestan are considering launching new international destinations from Makhachkala airport. We are talking about the possible opening of direct flights to Georgia and China. The routes are being worked out jointly with the management of the air harbor, Tbilisi and Guangzhou are among the priority destinations.
The development of the route network is facilitated by a large-scale reconstruction of infrastructure. As part of the national project "Efficient Transport System", a new runway with a length of 3.2 km and a width of 45 meters is being built. Currently, the laying of concrete pavement and landscaping of the adjacent territory continues.
It also provides for the renovation of the apron with the possibility of accommodating up to eight aircraft, the creation of taxiways and the launch of a training complex. After completion of the work, the airport will be able to receive aircraft of any type, regardless of weather conditions, which will expand its international potential.
