A multifunctional park with views of UNESCO sites and charging stations for electric vehicles will appear in Mtskheta

Children's, sports, and educational zones will be combined with landscaping and the reconstruction of the theatron

On the right bank of the Aragvi River in Mtskheta, a new multifunctional park is planned next to the theatron, offering panoramic views of the Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. The Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure has announced the start of design work, which will take seven months. Particular attention is being paid to coordinating the project with the municipality, the Ministry of Culture, the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation, and UNESCO recommendations, as the area is part of the buffer zone of a World Heritage Site.

The park will combine children's, sports, recreational, and educational zones, as well as pedestrian and bicycle routes. The site will include parking with charging for electric vehicles, video surveillance systems, outdoor lighting, and water supply. As part of the improvement works, the reconstruction of the pedestrian bridge across the Aragvi is planned, along with enhancements to landscape and water features.

In addition, the project includes the reconstruction of the theatron, which will help preserve and renew the district's cultural infrastructure. The new park will become a space for recreation, sports, and education, harmoniously integrated into the historic landscape of Mtskheta.
