Georgia Increases Gas Imports

Increased Supplies and New Gas Volumes in 2026

In 2026, Georgia plans to increase its natural gas imports by 0.6% compared to 2025, bringing the total supply volume to 3.34 billion cubic meters, according to the country's Ministry of Economy. Azerbaijan will remain the main supplier, providing 2.93 billion cubic meters through the Shah Deniz field and SOCAR.

Additionally, supplies from Russia are planned in the amount of 400 million cubic meters, which will diversify sources and increase energy stability. The increase in gas imports is aimed at meeting domestic demand and supporting the country's industry.

The increase in gas purchases is accompanied by the modernization of transport infrastructure and increased control over the quality of supplies, the ministry notes. This will ensure a reliable supply to cities and enterprises, despite seasonal fluctuations in consumption.
