In Georgia, a revision of natural gas tariffs for the population is expected from January 1, 2026. The issue will be submitted to a meeting of the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission on December 29. The head of the regulator, David Narmania, said that the increase would not be sharp, but the need to adjust prices is overdue.
According to Narmania, new gas tariffs will be formed on the basis of a financial audit of gas distribution companies, as well as taking into account investment obligations and infrastructure modernization costs. Specific parameters of the increase have not yet been disclosed, as calculations are ongoing, but we are talking about a "minimal adjustment".
Currently, in most regions of Georgia, consumers pay 0.57 GEL per cubic meter of natural gas, while in Tbilisi the tariff is slightly lower - about 0.54 GEL. The updated prices are expected to take effect from the first days of 2026 and will affect both residential consumers and the commercial sector.
