Georgian car market accelerates: 111,000 new cars registered in 9 months

Car fleet is growing faster than last year, and electric vehicles have already broken the annual record of 2024

In the first 9 months of 2025, 111,000 new cars were registered in Georgia, increasing the country's total car fleet by 5.4%. This data is provided by TBC Capital. For comparison, the car fleet grew by 91,000 cars in the same period of 2024, and by 125,000 cars for the entire last year, indicating a noticeable acceleration of the market.

Gasoline cars lead in the registration structure, accounting for 60%. Hybrids account for another 24%, diesel models 9%, and electric vehicles 5%. Among the brands, Toyota confidently takes the first place, followed by Ford, Mercedes, BMW, Subaru, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Jeep, Honda and Lexus.

The growth of the electric vehicle segment is noted separately. In 9 months of 2025, 5,255 electric vehicles were imported into the country - 4.8% of all new registrations, while a year earlier this figure was 2,900 cars and 3.2%. The current result has already exceeded the total for the entire 2024, when 4,225 electric vehicles were registered. The main countries of origin of cars in 2025 were the USA with a share of 55%, Japan - 15%, China - 14% and Germany - 11%.
