A new passenger terminal for Queen Tamar Mestia Airport will be built as part of a project worth over 15 million lari. The tender for the work was announced by JSC "United Airports of Georgia", and its estimated cost is 15.047 million lari.
The area of the new building will reach 950 m². The terminal will house check-in, security screening, waiting, and baggage handling areas, as well as separate arrival and departure halls. The departure area will be 156 m², the arrival area 109 m², the departure lounge 160 m², and the arrival lounge 167 m². The project includes modern facade and glazing systems. An area of 11,600 m² next to the terminal will be landscaped, including a car park.
The project documentation was prepared by Green Studio. Contractors with experience in construction work totaling at least 26 million lari including VAT will be allowed to participate in the tender. In addition, for the period from 2022 to the application date, the company must have completed at least one similar project worth 10 million lari or more, or two projects with a total value of 16 million lari or more. The construction period will be determined by the tender conditions.
