In the first quarter of 2026, the average monthly salary of private sector employees in Georgia reached 2,336 GEL. According to the National Statistics Office, this is 166 GEL more compared to the same period last year, indicating a continued growth in workers' incomes.
The highest salaries were recorded in medium-sized companies, where employees received an average of 2,786.5 GEL per month. In large enterprises, the figure was 2,513.5 GEL, and in small businesses – 1,787.2 GEL. At the same time, employment also grew: the number of employees in the business sector increased by 3.5% and reached 743 thousand people. Company personnel expenses increased by 11% over the year, exceeding 5.3 billion GEL.
Key economic indicators also show positive dynamics. The turnover of the business sector in the first three months of the year increased by almost 11% and amounted to 62 billion GEL. The main part of the turnover was provided by large enterprises. Production volume also increased by 12%, reaching 23.3 billion GEL. In terms of employment, trade, manufacturing, healthcare, and social services lead, which confirms stable business activity in the country.
