According to the National Statistics Office, almost 1.92 million cars are registered in Georgia, with the capital Tbilisi holding the lead in the number of cars — 46% of the total. The Imereti region is second in terms of car density with 11%, followed by Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti.
The most popular brand in the country remains Mercedes-Benz: it accounts for 12% of all registered cars, that is, every eighth car in Georgia is a Mercedes. It is followed by Toyota and Ford, as well as AvtoVAZ, Opel and BMW.
The top 10 registered brands are: Mercedes-Benz — 229,229 units, Toyota — 218,447, Ford — 191,148, AvtoVAZ — 152,478, Opel — 146,357, BMW — 92,177, Volkswagen — 81,398, Honda — 76,123, Nissan — 73,942, Mitsubishi — 58,649.
