In January 2026, passenger traffic at Georgian airports increased by 16% compared to the same period last year. According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the country's air harbors served 613,933 passengers during the month, and the total number of flights operated reached 2,873, which also represents an increase of more than 16%.
The main load fell on Tbilisi International Airport, which received 430,034 passengers. Kutaisi Airport served 138,028 people, and Batumi Airport served 44,894 passengers. At the same time, the cargo segment also grew noticeably: the volume of air transportation in January amounted to 3,147.16 tons, which is 38.75% more than a year earlier. The use of the country's airspace increased by 9.56%, with a total of 24,387 flight operations recorded.
The ministry notes that the positive dynamics continue the record trend of 2025. Then, Georgian airports served 8,494,640 passengers, and the number of flights increased to 38,218, adding 17.5% to the 2024 figure. The volume of air cargo reached 38,578,379 tons, showing an increase of 50% at once and becoming an absolute record for the country.
