Georgia may set a new record for tourism revenue in 2026, exceeding $5 billion. This forecast is provided by analysts at the investment company Galt&Taggart. If expectations are met, the tourism industry will once again become one of the key drivers of the country's economy and provide a significant contribution to the budget.
By the end of 2025, revenue from foreign travelers already reached a record $4.7 billion. This was the best result in the history of observations. In annual terms, the growth of tourism revenues amounted to almost 6%, which analysts attribute to an increase in tourist flow and higher spending by guests on accommodation, food and entertainment.
The largest contribution to Georgia's tourism revenue in 2025 was made by visitors from Russia. Over the year, they spent $697.3 million in the country, providing the largest share of revenue among all foreign tourists. In 2026, authorities and businesses expect to maintain positive dynamics and consolidate the status of tourism as one of the main sources of foreign exchange earnings.
