In 2025, Georgia updated its tourist record, receiving 5,521,866 foreign tourists, which is 8.4% more than the year before. This data was published by the National Tourism Administration of the country. If we take into account visits for non-tourist purposes, the total number of foreign entries exceeded 7.8 million, showing an increase of 5.9% compared to 2024.
Russia remained the leader in the number of visits — almost 1.58 million trips, which is 11.1% more than a year ago. The top three also included Turkey (1.25 million visits, with a decrease recorded) and Armenia (948 thousand, without significant changes). The highest growth rates were shown by China (+44.4%), Azerbaijan (+33.2%) and Israel (+29.4%). The flow from the EU countries and the UK approached 500 thousand visits, increasing by 14%.
The fourth quarter was particularly active: from September to December, the number of tourist visits reached 1.21 million, which is 10.5% more than the year before. For comparison, in 2024, Georgia was visited by about 7.4 million international travelers, of which 5.1 million were tourists, which emphasizes the steady growth of interest in the country.
