The Governor of the National Bank of Georgia held an online meeting with Fu Huan, President of the China International Payment System (CIPS). The parties discussed the current interaction of the Georgian financial sector with CIPS and summarized the results of cooperation for 2025.
The President of CIPS noted the readiness to continue working with the National Bank of Georgia in 2026, including bringing payment systems closer together and developing partnerships with Georgian commercial banks. The interaction is aimed at simplifying international transfers and strengthening the country's financial infrastructure.
Experts note that active cooperation with the Chinese payment system can increase the availability of international payments for business and contribute to the digitalization of the financial sector in Georgia.
