A large-scale reconstruction of one of the key sections of the Gomi — Sachkhere — Chiatura — Zestafoni highway is underway in Sachkhere. Work is being carried out on the section from the 25th to the 41st kilometer, with the total length of the renovated section being 17 kilometers.

This highway plays an important role for several municipalities, as it connects settlements and provides residents of nearby villages with convenient access to district centers. Before the renovation, the road surface was in poor condition, which created problems for drivers and reduced traffic safety.

As part of the project, the road surface will be completely replaced, connections to local roads will be improved, new entrances to residents' homes will be equipped, road signs and protective elements will be installed, and fresh markings will be applied. Funding comes from the state budget, and the cost of the work is estimated at approximately 26.2 million GEL.
