As of June 2026, the volume of deposits in the Georgian banking system, excluding interbank deposits, reached 73.52 billion lari. Over the month, the indicator increased by 2.13 billion lari, which corresponds to a growth of 2.98%. At the same time, if the impact of exchange rate fluctuations is excluded, the annual growth of deposits amounted to 22.86%. These data were published by the National Bank of Georgia.

The main contribution to the monthly growth was provided by demand deposits, the volume of which increased by 1.34 billion lari, or by 3.71%. Time deposits also showed positive dynamics, adding 782.71 million lari, which corresponds to a growth of 2.22%. At the same time, the level of deposit lari-ization continued to increase — by the end of June, it reached 56.16%, rising by 1.21 percentage points over the month.

The weighted average annual rate on time deposits in June was 7.25%. At the same time, deposits in national currency yielded an average of 8.90% per annum, while deposits in foreign currency yielded 2.52%. The US dollar continues to dominate the structure of foreign currency deposits with a share of 77.21%, while the euro accounts for 20.14% of the total volume of foreign currency deposits.
