Georgia and Romania Reconnected by Direct Flights: DAN AIR Enters the Route

New airline launches regular flights between Tbilisi and Bucharest starting July 2026

Romanian carrier DAN AIR is entering the Georgian aviation market, resuming direct regular air service between Tbilisi and Bucharest. This was announced by the Georgian Airports Association, noting that the Tbilisi—Bucharest—Tbilisi route will once again be available to passengers.

According to the application submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia, flights will operate from July 1 to October 24, 2026. Flights will be twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays, ensuring stable connectivity between the two capitals during the summer-autumn season.

The airline received permission to operate flights on June 9. Georgian authorities note that the return of the direct route expands opportunities for tourism and business travel, and strengthens the region's transport connectivity with Romania and EU countries.
