A new structure has emerged in the country – the Association of Circular Economy and Resource Management (CERMA), which is being called the first business platform of its kind in Georgia. The initiators state that it should unite companies working with waste, resources, and sustainable development models, as well as strengthen the implementation of circular economy principles in business.
Ana Tskhadadze, the chairperson of the organization, emphasizes that the project was created as a platform where practitioners and the academic community interact. According to her, the CERMA team consists of specialists with experience in waste management, ESG, and environmental technologies, and the idea itself was formed based on many years of work in the industry and cooperation with relevant experts.
Currently, the association is negotiating with large companies through industry associations and already includes enterprises from the waste processing sector as members. CERMA expects to form an ecosystem where businesses, analytical centers, and technology partners can jointly promote sustainable solutions and accelerate the transition to a "green" economy.
