In 2026, Tbilisi authorities will begin construction of a bridge that will connect Station Square and Dadiani Avenue. 10 million GEL is allocated for the project, according to the capital's budget document.
The bridge, approximately 280 meters long, will have two lanes and is designed to handle up to 800 cars per hour in one direction. It is intended for mixed traffic, but during peak hours, priority will be given to public transport. The project takes into account the trajectory of 18-meter buses.
The initiative was first announced by Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze in 2024, and additional details became known in the spring of 2025. The new bridge should become a convenient alternative for communication between the eastern and western sides of the railway line.
