Georgia's Foreign Trade Soared: Thanks to Cars and Petroleum Products

Imports and Exports for 11 Months of 2025 Showed Confident Growth

According to the results of January–November 2025, the volume of imports of goods to Georgia reached approximately $16.6 billion, which is almost 9.5% higher than the figure for the same period last year. These estimates are contained in the preliminary calculations of the National Statistics Service of the country. The growth of supplies from abroad continues to form the basis for increasing the overall foreign trade turnover.

Passenger cars still play a key role in the import structure, accounting for more than $3.5 billion. A significant share is also occupied by petroleum products and finished medicines. The main sources of supply were the USA and Turkey, the import volumes from which almost equalized, and China took third place, retaining its status as one of the largest trading partners.

Exports for the reporting period exceeded $6.6 billion and increased by more than 10%. Almost 40% of foreign supplies were provided by passenger cars, and ores of precious metals and alcoholic beverages also remained significant export items. The largest sales markets were the countries of Central Asia and Russia. As a result, the negative foreign trade balance approached $10 billion, and the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia exceeded $23 billion.
