The Batumi seaport has expanded its ferry network by launching a new international route Constanta – Batumi. In addition, the existing Varna – Batumi connection has been strengthened with the introduction of an additional ferry, which should increase the frequency and stability of transportation.
Port representatives note that the expansion of the route network will create new opportunities for trade development and attract additional cargo between the Black Sea countries. Increasing the number of ferry services will improve the reliability of transport links and make the port more attractive for logistics companies.
It is expected that the new routes will bring the port an additional income of about 300 thousand US dollars by the end of 2026. The Batumi administration believes that the development of ferry services will strengthen the port's role as one of the important transport and logistics centers of the Black Sea basin, help diversify revenues and create conditions for further growth in cargo turnover.
