The turnover of Georgia's transport and warehousing sector continues to grow and by the end of 2025 could reach 11.4 billion Lari. According to a study by investment bank Galt & Taggart, this is approximately 9% more than the previous year's figure, when the market volume was 10.5 billion Lari. At the same time, the industry's share in the country's GDP remains stable at about 6.1%.
In recent years, the sector has grown significantly: if in 2019 its turnover was 5.8 billion Lari, by 2025 the figure has almost doubled. The main part of the business is concentrated in Tbilisi – the capital accounts for about 66% of the transport and warehousing industry's turnover. This is followed by Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti with 15%, Adjara with 9%, and Imereti with 3%.
In parallel, the warehouse real estate market in Tbilisi is actively developing. If in 2014–2024 an average of about 35 thousand square meters of warehouse space was built annually, in the coming years this figure could increase to 180 thousand square meters per year. The total volume of modern warehouses in the capital increased from 740 thousand square meters in 2014 to 1.26 million square meters in 2025, and by 2027 it is expected to grow to 1.65 million square meters. Amid high demand, warehouse rents have also risen: the average rate increased from 2.6 dollars per square meter per month in 2019 to 6.3 dollars in 2025.
