The Batumi Oil Terminal in Georgia has resumed transshipment of aviation kerosene after eight years, once again becoming an important link in fuel supplies between Europe and Kazakhstan.
In July 2026, the terminal began receiving JET A1 aviation fuel produced at European refineries. The first batch, amounting to 10 thousand tons, was delivered by sea across the Black Sea and is currently stored in Batumi.
After the arrival of railway tank cars, the fuel will be sent to Kazakhstan via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor.
The resumption of aviation kerosene transshipment expands the capabilities of the Batumi Oil Terminal and strengthens Georgia's position as an important transit hub between Europe and Central Asian countries.
JET A1 is one of the main types of fuel for civil aviation and is used for most modern passenger aircraft. Stable supplies of such fuel are of strategic importance for the development of the aviation industry and transport infrastructure.
The Batumi Oil Terminal, owned by JSC "KazTransOil", also handles the transshipment of oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel, gasoline, kerosene, liquefied petroleum gases, and other petroleum products. In the first six months of 2026, the volume of liquid oil cargo transshipment amounted to approximately 725 thousand tons.
