Kazakhstani carrier Air Astana celebrated 15 years since the launch of its first direct flight between Almaty and Tbilisi. During this period, the route has become one of the stable connections between Kazakhstan and Georgia, serving hundreds of thousands of passengers.
By the end of last year, Air Astana, together with its low-cost carrier FlyArystan, transported over 270,000 passengers. This is 17% higher than the previous year's figures, reflecting a steady increase in demand for flights between the countries.
In the summer schedule of 2026, the total frequency of flights from Tbilisi, Batumi, and Kutaisi to Almaty, Astana, Aktau, and Atyrau reaches 44 flights per week. Of these, 25 are operated by Air Astana and 19 by FlyArystan, which intensifies competition and expands the availability of transportation.
The route network also provides convenient connections to China, India, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, turning Tbilisi into a transit point for long-haul travel.
