Number of Refrigerated Warehouses Grows in Georgia

Statistics show an increase in storage infrastructure and food turnover

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, Geostat, the number of refrigerated facilities in the country increased by 58 units in 2025, reaching 445. A year earlier, there were 387, reflecting the expansion of food storage and logistics infrastructure.

The majority of refrigerated warehouses are concentrated in the Shida Kartli region (61%), followed by Tbilisi, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Over the year, more than 500 clients used the services of such facilities, and the total volume of stored products amounted to 381.7 thousand tons.

Poultry, beef, fish, as well as fruits and vegetables, dominate the storage structure. Additionally, there is a noted increase in turnover: hundreds of thousands of tons of products worth hundreds of millions of lari passed through refrigerated facilities and elevators, indicating the growing role of warehouse infrastructure in the country's agro-industrial sector.
