Georgia and Turkey Significantly Increase Trade in 2026

Mutual trade volume exceeded $1 billion in four months

In early 2026, economic ties between Georgia and Turkey significantly strengthened. From January to April, trade between the countries grew by 18.4% and reached $1.09 billion, reflecting increased regional economic cooperation.

The growth was discussed amidst diplomatic contacts, including meetings between the foreign ministers and relevant agencies of the two countries. The parties touched upon issues of strategic partnership, investment cooperation, and the expansion of sectoral ties, including in agriculture and industry. Special attention is paid to the export of Georgian products – from wine and honey to nuts, which are considered promising categories for the Turkish market.

It is separately noted that exports from Georgia showed particularly strong dynamics, increasing by almost 92.6% and reaching $192.2 million. Experts attribute this growth to the expansion of trade channels and the activation of bilateral agreements, which continue to form a stable basis for further increases in mutual trade.
