According to a forecast by the analytical company Galt & Taggart, electricity consumption in Georgia between 2026 and 2035 will grow by an average of 3.4% annually, reaching 20 TWh. The main drivers of growth will be industry, business, the spread of electric vehicles, and an increase in the number of air conditioners in homes.

The largest contribution to demand growth will come from the industrial sector, which is projected to increase by approximately 2 TWh. Another 1.9 TWh will be added by other business consumers. Transport will also begin to have a significant impact: electric vehicles are expected to provide an additional consumption of about 0.9 TWh.

Analysts specifically note the rapid growth in the number of electric vehicles and air conditioners. While in 2025 the share of electric vehicles in Georgia's vehicle fleet is estimated at only 1.1%, by 2035 this figure could rise to 15%. Simultaneously, the prevalence of air conditioners in households will increase from 21% to 40%. All of this will lead to a noticeable increase in the load on the country's energy system in the next 10 years.
