In early 2026, Georgia's aviation industry showed significant growth: in the first quarter, international airports served 1.6 million passengers, a 4.3% increase compared to the previous year. The number of flights increased by 9% to 7.8 thousand, and air cargo transportation grew by 32.3%, reflecting increased logistical activity in the region.
Tbilisi contributed the most to passenger traffic with 1.1 million people, an 8% increase. Kutaisi Airport also added 7%, serving 386 thousand passengers. Against the backdrop of overall growth, Batumi stood out: the resort airport lost about a quarter of its passengers and received only 116 thousand people during the quarter, which was the only decline among major hubs.
