JYSK Accused of Misleading Customers

The company has one month to correct the issue, or face a fine

The JYSK retail chain in Georgia has faced claims from the regulator due to violations of consumer rights. The Agency for Competition and Consumer Protection stated that the company's marketing policy misleads customers and must be brought into compliance with the law within a month.

The reason was a promotional campaign with a 40% discount posted on the website. At the same time, it was indicated that the product was only available in offline stores. However, when purchasing at a physical point of sale, the discount was only 30%, as it turned out that the maximum price reduction was valid exclusively for online orders.

The regulator qualified such actions as unfair commercial practice. If the company does not eliminate the violations within the specified period, it faces a fine of up to 2% of its annual turnover, and if similar violations are detected again, the amount of sanctions may be doubled.
