In 2025, the number of traffic violations in Georgia increased sharply - to almost 4.6 million cases, which is 14.5% more than the year before. This data is provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, noting a steady increase in the load on the control and violation recording system.
Most often, drivers violated the rules of stopping and parking - 862.9 thousand cases were recorded, with the vast majority occurring in Tbilisi. In second place is ignoring road signs, markings and technical requirements (429.5 thousand). The problem of operating cars without technical inspection also remains acute - 258.7 thousand violations.
Other common violations include unfastened seat belts (141.4 thousand) and repeated fines within 30 days (89.5 thousand). Driving under the influence of alcohol or refusing to be tested stands out separately - 11.6 thousand cases. The main concentration of violations is still in Tbilisi, where the largest share of all incidents is recorded.
