According to the National Statistics Office, almost 1.92 million cars are registered in Georgia, with the capital Tbilisi holding the lead in the number of cars — 46% of the total. The Imereti region is second in terms of car density with 11%, followed by Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti.

The most popular brand in the country remains Mercedes-Benz: it accounts for 12% of all registered cars, that is, every eighth car in Georgia is a Mercedes. It is followed by Toyota and Ford, as well as AvtoVAZ, Opel and BMW.
