Georgia Plans to Use Modular Schools

The country will purchase 750 mobile buildings that can be quickly installed where regular schools are closed for renovation

Georgia plans to use modular schools as a temporary replacement for regular buildings during large-scale renovation or construction of new schools. According to Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze, the main goal of the project is to relieve students, parents, and teachers from the need to temporarily transfer to another school.

Prefabricated buildings will be installed in the same locality or municipality where the school is undergoing renovation. This is especially important for small settlements, as children will not have to travel or move to a neighboring village for classes.

In total, Georgia intends to purchase 750 modular schools. Their design will allow the buildings to be moved from one place to another and reused if necessary.

The authorities expect that this approach will allow for the renovation and construction of new schools without serious interruptions to the educational process. At the same time, children will be able to continue their education as close to home as possible, even when their permanent school is temporarily closed.
