According to the forecast of the analytical company Galt & Taggart, electricity consumption in Georgia in the period from 2026 to 2035 will grow by an average of 3.4% annually and will reach 20 TWh. The main drivers of growth will be industry, business, the spread of electric vehicles and an increase in the number of air conditioners in homes.

The largest contribution to demand growth will be provided by the industrial sector, which is projected to increase by approximately 2 TWh. Another 1.9 TWh will be added by other business consumers. Transport will also begin to have a significant impact: electric vehicles are expected to provide additional consumption of about 0.9 TWh.

Analysts separately note the rapid growth in the number of electric vehicles and air conditioners. If in 2025 the share of electric vehicles in Georgia's car fleet is estimated at only 1.1%, then by 2035 this figure could grow to 15%. At the same time, the prevalence of air conditioners in households will increase from 21% to 40%. All this will lead to a noticeable increase in the load on the country's energy system in the next 10 years.
