The seaport of Poti in Georgia handled 582,498 TEU in January–October 2026, which is 9% higher than the figure for the same period last year (532,908 TEU). In October alone, container turnover amounted to 57,287 TEU compared to 51,435 TEU a year earlier. The busiest month was July, when the terminal handled 65,759 TEU. About 80% of Georgia’s container cargo passes through Poti.

The number of serviced container ships over ten months reached 372, compared to 299 a year earlier. Thus, the figure increased by 24.4%. According to APM Terminals Poti, increased activity is also observed in the general cargo segment: in January–October, its volume amounted to 343,856 tons compared to 214,095 tons in the same period of 2025. The increase reached 61%.
In October, the terminal handled 19,200 tons of general cargo, compared to 13,327 tons a year earlier. The increase in container turnover and the number of vessel calls indicates an expanding cargo flow through one of Georgia’s key maritime logistics hubs.
