Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili held talks with Mao Fang, Vice President of the Chinese digital platform Meituan. One of the main topics of the meeting was the promotion of Georgian goods in the Chinese market through e-commerce infrastructure. The parties considered opportunities to create additional sales channels for products and increase exports.
Entering Meituan could expand local producers’ access to Chinese consumers and create additional opportunities for promoting national brands.

Separately, the negotiators noted the importance of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Georgia and China for the development of economic ties. The Chinese market is viewed by Tbilisi as one of the promising areas for increasing shipments and diversifying export markets. At the same time, specific dates for the launch of Georgian goods sales via Meituan have not yet been announced.
