The international network of technology events Global Tech Weekend (GTW) has announced its preliminary program for 2027. The season kicks off in Baku in April, and Tashkent will host events in May. The development of the network in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the USA is coordinated by the American organization GTW US. The exact dates for meetings in each city will be announced later.
Baku will join the GTW network for the first time: local partners will organize the event, while GTW US will be responsible for the program and speaker selection. Tashkent will retain its status as a permanent venue. In May 2026, the local festival ran from the 15th to the 17th and gathered about 3,000 participants. In 2027, the main technology partner of the event, IT Park Uzbekistan, will again provide support.
The preliminary calendar also includes Tbilisi in June, Astana in October, and Los Angeles in December. The GTW program covers artificial intelligence, the gaming industry, cinema and creative technologies, and also includes meetings for companies and institutional partners. According to the organizers, the total attendance of GTW Tbilisi 2025, GTW San Francisco 2026, GTW Tashkent 2026, and GTW Tbilisi 2026 exceeded 30,000 people. The event in San Francisco was the first in the network's history to be attended by a delegation from Central Asia and the Caucasus.
