Fuel in Georgia crosses the 4 GEL mark: gasoline continues to rise in price

Over the past two days, some gas stations have again raised prices by 3-5 tetri per liter, and since the beginning of August, gasoline has risen in price to 42 tetri

The cost of automotive fuel in Georgia continues to rise. Over the past two days, at some gas stations, gasoline prices have increased by another 3–5 tetri per liter. Currently, Regular is sold for 4.02 GEL, Premium for 4.29 GEL, and Super for 4.62 GEL per liter.

The main surge occurred in September. Depending on the gas station network, gasoline prices increased by 14–31 tetri over the month, while diesel added 30–52 tetri. In total, for August and September, the cost of gasoline increased to 42 tetri per liter, and diesel fuel to 91 tetri.

Official statistics also record a sharp increase in prices. According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in September, gasoline was 30.2% more expensive than a year earlier, diesel increased by 54.5%, and automotive gas by 0.6%. The latest increase led to Regular exceeding the psychological mark of 4 GEL per liter for the first time.
