Georgia and Turkey agree to implement new technologies in education

Tbilisi and Ankara will expand experience exchange, launch programs for students and teachers, and jointly develop scientific projects

Georgia and Turkey have signed an intergovernmental agreement to expand cooperation in education. The document was signed by the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, and the Minister of National Education of Turkey, Yusuf Tekin. One of the key areas will be the implementation of new technologies in the educational systems of both countries and the exchange of accumulated experience.

The agreement provides for the expansion of direct contacts between educational institutions, as well as the implementation of exchange programs for students, teachers, and researchers. The parties also intend to exchange information on quality control mechanisms in education and implement joint research projects. A separate area is supporting the study of Georgian and Turkish languages in educational institutions.

To coordinate the work, a joint working group will be created, co-chaired by the education ministers of the two countries or their appointed high-ranking representatives. The group will monitor the implementation of agreed initiatives and evaluate the results of cooperation. According to the Georgian agency, the agreement should expand educational and cultural ties between Georgia and Turkey and create additional opportunities for students and education professionals.
