Georgia expects to announce a tender for the construction of an access railway to the Anaklia deep-water port by the end of October. This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili. According to her, negotiations with international financial organizations have been completed, and Georgian Railways has already prepared the access line project.

The authorities have developed a detailed project implementation schedule and intend to strictly adhere to it. Kvrivishvili named the launch of the port in 2029, when Anaklia is expected to receive its first vessel, as the main goal. Railway communication is considered a crucial part of the accompanying infrastructure necessary for the full operation of the new deep-water port.

In parallel, breakwater construction and dredging works continue in Anaklia. According to the minister, a second vessel has already arrived at the port to participate in deepening the water area. Breakwater construction is also on schedule, and authorities expect to complete all key works according to the established plan.
