Tbilisi Concentrates Almost Half of Georgia's Entire Vehicle Fleet

Over 948,000 cars are registered in the capital - almost twice as many as in Imereti

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, 1.98 million vehicles were registered in the country in Q2 2026. Almost half of the entire vehicle fleet is in Tbilisi – 948,108 cars, or about 48% of the total. Thus, almost every second car in the country is in the capital.

Imereti ranks second with 212,352 registered vehicles, or 10.7% of the fleet. Kvemo Kartli follows with 164,160 cars (8.3%). Kakheti has 152,279 vehicles (7.7%), Adjara has 129,642 (6.5%), and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti has 108,312 (5.4%).

The fewest vehicles are registered in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 11,360 units (0.5%). In Samtskhe-Javakheti, the figure is 67,179 cars, in Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 45,230, in Guria – 40,763, and in Shida Kartli – 96,444 vehicles.
