Georgia sharply increased car deliveries to Iran. From January to July 2026, 6,749 vehicles worth a total of $119 million were exported there. For comparison, a year earlier during the same period, Georgia sent only seven cars to Iran for $151 thousand.

Thus, the value of car exports to Iran increased by 78,458%. Thanks to this, Iran for the first time entered the top three largest destinations for Georgian car exports, second only to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The sharp increase in supplies began after February 28, when the United States and Israel began military operations against Iran. Against this background, traditional sea routes for car deliveries to the country decreased, and part of the demand, presumably, was redirected to re-export through Georgia.

In total, over seven months, Georgia re-exported 48,314 cars worth $1.16 billion. This is $318 million, or 21.5%, less than the figure for the same period last year.

The main decline occurred in deliveries to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. Against this background, Georgian car dealers significantly increased car exports to Iran.
