In April–June 2026, Georgian ports and terminals handled 5.36 million tons of cargo. According to the National Statistics Office, this is 33% more than in the second quarter of last year.

Over three months, Georgian ports received 4,611 vessels. Almost half of them — 47.3% — carried general cargo. Another 24.9% were liquid cargo vessels, and 19.3% were container ships.

The number of dry cargo vessels grew most significantly — by 39.1% year-on-year. The number of container ships increased by 34.8%, liquid cargo vessels by 17.3%, and general cargo vessels by 2.3%. At the same time, the number of specialized vessels decreased by 65%.

In the structure of processed cargo, general cargo accounted for 47.8%, liquid cargo for 30.5%, and bulk cargo for 21.7%.

At the same time, Georgian ports significantly increased passenger traffic. In the second quarter, they served about 4.7 thousand passengers — 54.5% more than a year earlier. More than half of the passenger traffic, 53.2%, was transit passengers.

Among vessels by flag, Panamanian vessels led with 19.1%. They were followed by Turkish vessels with 15.2% and Liberian vessels with 11.3%.
